Ghalibaf: We Have Nothing New to Say; the U.S. Must Fulfill the Seven Conditions

During a meeting with Asim Munir on Tuesday evening, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf highlighted the brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan. He expressed his appreciation for the support shown by the Pakistani nation and government, who stood by Iran during periods of both war and negotiation.

Field Marshal Asim Munir conveyed greetings from Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly, and Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and emphasized the continued cooperation between the two nations.

In response to an inquiry from the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament regarding cross-border exchanges, Asim Munir stated that the border issues were temporary and technical in nature, and that the border between the two countries has reopened as of today.

Referring to negotiations held between Iran and the United States in Islamabad, Ghalibaf remarked: "I explicitly told the U.S. Vice President there that the long history of negative actions taken by the U.S. against Iran—both before and after the Islamic Revolution—has led to a state of profound distrust toward the United States. Furthermore, the Trump administration’s violation of the Islamabad understanding, coupled with his repeated threats, has only deepened this distrust."

Ghalibaf stressed that Iran has nothing new to add; the United States cannot regain Iran's trust unless it fulfills the seven conditions previously presented in New York.

Asserting that while Iran is not a warmonger, it remains fully prepared to defend its homeland and national dignity, Ghalibaf stated: "Threats and military maneuvers cannot influence the strategic decisions of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It was the United States that, through miscalculations and a war against Iran, found itself mired in a quagmire; now, it is up to them to take the necessary steps to extricate themselves."
