In response to letters sent over the past few months by a group of university students from across the country, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, described the students' resolve, determination, and sense of responsibility for shaping the future as the bond of a "shared covenant" between the Leadership and the youth. He emphasized the necessity of arming oneself with knowledge, faith, and self-purification, while redoubling efforts to bolster the strength and authority of Iran.

The text of the Supreme Leader’s response is as follows:

In the Name of the Exalted,

Greetings to my dear children,

I have read your affectionate letters. I am grateful for the abundant kindness shown by you—young, highly motivated university students—and I shall offer special prayers for all of you, to whom I now feel a sense of indebtedness.

In your letters—as well as those from many other young people and students who have graced me with their kindness and affection—a clear resolve, determination, and sense of responsibility for building the future shine through.

This firm pledge is a precious trust, rooted in the school of pure Muhammadan Islam—peace be upon him and his family—and in the legacy of the great Khomeini and the martyr Khamenei (may God elevate their noble stations). It serves as the bond of a "shared covenant" that connects us to one another. To this end, equip yourselves—to the greatest extent possible—with the weapons of knowledge, faith, self-purification, intimacy with God, and a profound familiarity with the teachings of the Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). Furthermore, through redoubled effort and innovation, bolster the strength and authority of our cherished Iran. In this way—aided by the prayers of our benevolent Master (may God hasten his noble reappearance)—the journey of this allied host toward the summits of progress and an Islamic-Iranian civilization may be realized as effectively and rapidly as possible, God willing.
