Sherman: Trump's behavior towards Iran is a sign of his frustration

The former US Deputy Secretary of State emphasized in critical statements that Donald Trump's recent actions towards Iran are more a reflection of his frustration and failure to force Tehran to surrender than a sign of a specific strategy.

Wendy Sherman, a former senior official at the US State Department, strongly criticized the current US administration's policies towards Iran in an interview with the American network "CNN", saying that Washington currently lacks any coherent strategy towards Tehran and that US President Donald Trump's recent actions cannot be assessed within the framework of a specific strategy.

Sherman clarified in this interview: "I don't see a strategy at all. What I see is another tactical maneuver that stems from the president's deep frustration. He cannot achieve what he wants and he cannot force Iran to surrender."

Referring to the economic consequences of the war against Iran in the region, he said that the conflict has increased energy prices for American families, hurt farmers who depend on chemical fertilizers, and has caused hospitals to face difficulties due to a shortage of helium needed for MRI machines.

According to Sherman, this war of choice by Donald Trump has not only reduced Washington's international credibility, but also affected the world economy.

Referring to claims before the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran that they supported domestic protesters, the former American official said that Trump had claimed that he wanted to overthrow the Iranian government, but the Iranian government is still standing.
