American sources claim that the country's Secretary of State has told a number of his counterparts that Washington has no plans to launch new military strikes against Iran at this time.

The Axios website, citing unnamed sources, continued its reports, claiming that the US has no plans to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran at this time.

On Wednesday morning, Axios claimed, citing an American official: "US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has told a number of his counterparts that Washington will not launch new strikes against Iran at this time."

The alleged report states: "Rubio, while stating that Washington does not intend to return to large-scale combat operations, did not rule out the possibility of a counterattack if a conflict breaks out on the Iranian side."

The sources, who were not named, claimed: "Rubio explained the Trump administration's policy towards Iran to several of his counterparts. This new policy includes avoiding military action for now and increasing economic pressure."

The report continued: “The new policy toward Iran is expected to last at least until after the midterm elections in the US Congress. The naval blockade deprives Iran of oil revenues, and almost no tankers have been seen near Kharkov Island in the past two weeks.”

The US officials went on to claim: “We are not negotiating with Iran at the moment, but we are applying intense pressure that may force them to return to the negotiating table. Iran has lost control of the Strait of Hormuz, and now we control it.”

Axios also added: “The removal of mines from the Strait of Hormuz by the US Navy has eliminated one of Iran’s most important bargaining tools.”
