The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement today, condemning Israel's crimes in Lebanon, and emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for Lebanon in defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Zionist regime's continued military aggression against Lebanon, including the brutal attacks in recent days on residential areas in the south of the country, which have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of Lebanese citizens, including women and children. While praising the resistance and steadfastness of the honorable Lebanese people against the hegemony and occupation of the child-killing Israeli regime, it also emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for Lebanon in defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The statement adds: The Zionist regime’s brutal attacks on Lebanon and the occupation of parts of the country, which are accompanied by the commission of the most serious war crimes, are taking place in the shadow of the US’s open support for this regime, and therefore the US regime is considered the main partner in the Zionist regime’s crimes in Lebanon and must be held accountable in this regard.

The statement states: On the other hand, the inaction of the United Nations Security Council in response to the Zionist regime’s aggressive actions, which undoubtedly pose a serious threat to regional and global peace and security, has not only called into question the credibility and status of the United Nations, but has also emboldened the Zionist regime in committing crimes and expanding the scope of its war-mongering. The United Nations and its Secretary-General, as well as all member states, are obligated to take the necessary measures to stop the Zionist regime’s aggressive attacks and war crimes.

The statement adds: The Islamic Republic of Iran notes the responsibility of the Islamic world and regional countries to support Lebanon against the aggressions of the occupying regime and calls for serious mobilization by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the use of all its capacities to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime and to hold accountable and punish the criminals of this regime.
