Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS), the eleventh Imam of the Shia Muslims, was the beloved son of Imam Ali al-Hadi (AS). According to the most widely accepted historical account, he was born on Friday, the 8th of Rabi' al-Thani in 232 AH, in the city of Medina.

Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS) was known from a young age for his knowledge, piety, patience, and excellent character. During his life, he faced restrictions and pressure from the Abbasid government and spent an important part of his life in the city of Samarra. He was given the title “al-Askari” because he lived in the military area of Samarra.

After the martyrdom of his respected father, Imam Ali al-Hadi (AS), Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS) became the eleventh Imam and led the Shia community for about six years. Despite the difficult political circumstances of his time, he taught religious knowledge, answered people's questions, and trained many companions and students.
