Press TV conducted an interview with political analyst Hamid Golpira on September 24 to discuss the key points of a recent speech by Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Following is a transcript of the interview:
Q: What are the significant points of Nasrallah’s speech, especially when he mentions the U.S. as the main source of terrorism in the world?
A: He is correct in describing the U.S. as the main source of terrorism in the world. Israel is the proxy of the United States in the region of the Middle East. So it does work like that. And one could even take it a little bit further and say Israel is the proxy of the U.S. in the Middle East, and the U.S. is being used by the global ruling class. So the United States is actually a proxy of another group, which is also driving this terrorism.
Q: How much do you think Hezbollah has been effective in preventing the advance of ISIL terrorists in the region?
A: Well, they did take a stand. They are trying to prevent them from entering Lebanon, their own country. They are making activities in Syria, fighting with this group that has taken over large territories, unfortunately. So they have made some progress in this issue.
Q: Why do some countries in the region or around the world not question the duplicitous policy of the U.S. and Israel when it comes to fighting the ISIL Takfiri terrorists?
A: People don’t look at some of these points carefully. One could say that perhaps the United States’ CIA actually created ISIL and is using them to create managed chaos in the region, having the same idea of ‘out of chaos order.’ They are using this group, ISIL, to have this. People say: ‘Why are they attacking them if they supported them before?’ But one could say maybe the general idea is that they don’t want ISIL to take over all of Iraq and Syria. But at the same time, they don’t want them to be completely beat back. They want them to maintain this state of chaos for a certain time in order to attain other objectives.
