Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, issued a message on the occasion of the unforgettable epic of the splendid funeral that was held Tuesday for 270 martyrs of the 8-year Sacred Defence in Tehran.
 

The full text of the leader reads,

In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

"Blessings and greetings of God upon the dear martyrs who kindled the torch of monotheism in the Islamic land of Iran with their sacrifice. And blessings and greetings of God upon the innocent diver martyrs who, via their emergence and presence, assisted to this inextinguishable flame and hoisted the flags of dear and precious memories and spiritual treasures of the ummah in Iran in the best glorious manner. Greetings to your tied hands and oppressed corpses and greetings to your pure souls that have flown to the divine paradise. Greetings to you who irrigated the atmosphere of life and the souls of the living once more; and endless thanks to the Wise and Kind God who sends down the doubtless good tidings unto the wakeful hearts in the moments of need of this God-seeking and God-believing nation and removes dusts. And greetings to you the great, loyal, aware and responsible nation, who recognize the subtle divine address, hear it wholeheartedly and respond to it. Your fully meaningful presence today, in the funeral of these dearest ones who have returned home, is one of the most indelible events of the revolution. Blessings of God upon you and boundless thanks to God, the owner of hearts, and endless greetings to Imam Mahdi who is the possessor of this grand wealth.
