Iranian Sunni prayer leader: Unity is a necessity for present era

Molavi Abdul Rahim Riganpour, prominent Sunni cleric from Sistan and Baluchistan Province, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency called Islamic unity as an undeniable necessity of the society and said there is no space for Takfir (excommunication) among Shia and Sunni scholars or in the Islamic texts.

He called proximity as a progressive principle originating from holy Qur’an and all Muslims have to be committed to that.

He added,” Maintaining solidarity and convergence of the Islamic nation is a command by God Almighty which is based in Qur’anic teachings and lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).”

Professor at Sunni seminary of Zahedan added,” Contrary to what some western experts are struggling to portray Islam as a religion of violence and excommunication, a study into original Islamic texts proves that Takfir and extremism have no space in Islam and lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).”

He stressed,” Shia and Sunni ideologies must be based on true Islamic teachings and inspired by the lifestyle of Prophet of Islam.” Noting that projection of the enemies must not distance us from our beliefs.

Iranian Sunni figure called Islam as the religion of affection and fraternity with a specific view for animals rights and demanded,” How is it possible that a religion maintains the rights of the animals and spreads fratricide and violence?”

Prayer leader of Mirjaveh County stressed,” There is no room in the hearts of Muslims for extremism and such movements only take steps in line with interests of the superpowers and weakening of the Islamic communities.”

He added,” Islamophobia and dispersion of Islamic states have long been on the agenda of the western and eastern intelligence services and they all intend to disperse Muslims and tarnish the ties between Islamic communities in an attempt to fulfill their interests and guarantee sustained security for the Zionist regime of Israel.”

Molavi Riganpour noted,” It is a mission for all Muslims to prevent any intrigue and disagreement and take steps towards unity, cooperation and fraternity because that secures success and ascendency of Islam.”
