Iran's Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi says the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic are fully prepared to counter any possible threat against the country.
Brigadier General Vahidi told IRNA on Wednesday: “The country's Armed Forces are in very good shape in terms of military strength and power and are ready to respond to any threat from the enemies.”
Vahidi added that “these threats have always existed” but stressed the high capabilities of Iran's Armed Forces to repel and respond to such threats.
The Iranian defense minister said that Iran's enemies are aware of the Islamic Republic's military capabilities but they resort to threats now and again to cover up their own problems.
The United States and the Zionist regime of Israel have repeatedly threatened Tehran with a military strike under the baseless pretext that Iran's nuclear program may have a covert military aspect.
Iran has categorically rejected such allegations and says it only seeks the peaceful applications of nuclear technology and that the International Atomic Energy Agency has never found any indication of a diversion in Tehran's nuclear program.
Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that any military action against the country would prompt a severe and immediate response that would not be limited to the region.
