In a meeting with thousands of basijis in Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that western efforts to suppress and derail the Islamic movements in the region are futile and stressed:

"The wave of Islamic Awakening that has started in Arab countries has influenced the world and the movements in America and Europe are indicative of the great changes that the world will witness in the future."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: "These Islamic movements are undoubtedly permanent and progressive. With the awakening of different nations, the puppets of the arrogant powers will leave the scene one after the other and the glory and power of Islam will increase on a daily basis."

His Eminence said that the bullying powers of the world are angry with the Islamic Republic because it has the power to set a model for other nations. He reiterated that the slogans of the people of Egypt and Tunisia are being repeated in New York and California and the people of Egypt and Tunisia openly refer to Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad as their role model.

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the spread of Islamic Awakening in the region and said that similar slogans are being shouted in different cities of America and the regional countries.

Ayatollah Khamenei praised the wave of Islamic movements in the regional countries and added that those who were familiar with the inspirational nature of the Islamic Revolution were waiting for this auspicious uprising for thirty years. "And the enemies of the Revolution lived in fear of this uprising for thirty years. They were terrified of the events that have already happened today. Those who hatch plots against the Islamic Revolution predicted such events. These events will continue and they will not stop."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that intimidating nations and their leaders is the main method used by the power-thirsty countries of the world. He added that the arrogant powers are angry with the Islamic Republic because the Iranian nation put an end to their intimidation and showed other nations that the power of the bullying powers is superficial and that it is possible to defeat them.

Ayatollah Khamenei rejected western accusations regarding Iran's involvement in the regional uprisings and added: "The Islamic Republic does not need such things because the permanence, resistance and sincerity of the Islamic Republic are enough to inspire and guide other nations."

His Eminence referred to the progressive movement of the Iranian nation and the different challenges that the enemies have encountered over the past 32 years, further adding: "The Iranian nation has accomplished many things which were considered impossible and it will achieve definite victory with this spirit."

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the new efforts of the enemies to create challenges for the Iranian nation and added: "The Iranian nation is used to facing such challenges and by Allah's favor, we will overcome all the challenges that the enemies have caused."
