The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei today termed the two important duties of Iranian students abroad to be: “acquisition of knowledge in the exact sense” and “conveying stances of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s system.”

Speaking to the visiting members of the European branch of the Islamic Students’ Association on Sunday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called these students “the great assets of Iran”, and said acquisition of knowledge’ is the main duty of the Iranian students abroad.

He recalled that lack of scientific and spiritual powers was one of the great defects of the pre-Islamic Revolution Iran that made the country dependent on foreigners.

The Leader added: “The victory of the Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini’s indomitable spirit in putting his trust in God and paying attention to the nation paved the ground for transforming the national belief, delivering it from spiritual bondage, and solving Iran’s problems.”

He said the second duty of the Iranians studying abroad is the necessity to “promote the correct thought and express the stances of the Islamic Republic system” vis-à-vis the enemies; adding, “Islamic Iran has achieved spectacular successes in confrontation with Global Arrogance and the complicated and big economic and propaganda network affiliated to it. Countering the sanctions and progress in the nuclear issue are among these achievements; and this trend of victory will continue.”

Stressing the necessity of struggle, by strengthening the positive aspects and scientific abilities in this course, Ayatollah Khamenei made it clear: “By trying to enforce all-out political, security and economic measures against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the enemy is clearly declining and failing.”
