International Qods Day rallies in the Iranian capital, Tehran, were held today before start of the Friday Prayer with millions of demonstrators calling for the end of the illegal Zionist entity, as the only solution to the chronic questions of Palestine.
Tens of millions of enthusiastic Iranians in more than 550 cities and towns took to the streets on Friday to express the Islamic Republic’s solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people, and also to voice their anger at the policies of the hegemonic powers.
At the end of rallies in Tehran, a statement was issued on behalf of the Iranian nation, in which the demonstrators said the key to the liberation of Islam's former qibla, Bayt al-Moqaddas, and freedom of the Palestinian nation is “unity among Muslims and the full support for the Islamic resistance and Palestinian Intefadha.”
The statement said the only solution to the Palestinian issue and the problems in West Asia are “obliteration of Israel, expulsion of all Zionists from all Palestine, and return of all Palestinian refugees from around the world to their homeland.”
The statement said all Palestinians must be allowed to participate in a “free referendum” to determine the future of Palestine in its entirety – from the borders of Lebanon in the north to Egypt's Sinai in the south, and from the River Jordan in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the West.
The resolution further said that the only way to confront the aggressive and usurper state of Israel is the way of resistance shown by Lebanon's legendry anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah and Hamas of Palestine.
The resolution also called on Egypt’s new government to cancel the scandalous Camp David Accord with Israel to speed up the collapse of the illegal Zionist entity.
The Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace), had designated the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadhan as International Qods Day 33 years ago to mobilize Muslims across the world for solidarity with the Palestinians for the cherished goal of liberation of Bayt al-Moqaddas and Palestine.
