The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei stressed the importance of the resistance economy for Iran, saying that "Tehran can deter the western states' plots and also maintain its progress this way."

Addressing members of the Iranian government Thursday, His Eminence highlighted that "In this kind of economy both the trend of the county's progress will be maintained and the vulnerability of the Iranian economic system against enemies' tricks will decrease."

On the requirements of resistance economy, the Leader highlighted "all physical, human, governmental and non-governmental capacities need to be employed, and reminded that the private sector plays a pivotal role in this type of economy."

In parallel, Imam Khamenei described the "Government Week" as an opportunity for appreciating services rendered by the executive power and the officials.

"It also provides a chance for evaluating inward and study weak and strong points of the power," he iterated.

His Eminence called on the president and his colleagues to make optimal use of the remaining time till the end of the tenth government tenure.

"Keep always in mind that the powers will never quit enmity and will seek new measure once the earlier ones are doomed," His eminence warned. Therefore, the officials should seek new approaches for countering the threats.

Rendering a definition of resistance economy, Ayatollah Khamenei said that adhering to this economy will not only keep the country on its track to progress but also will lower the vulnerability of the economic system.

The Supreme Leader also called on the three branches of government to keep interaction and coordination in their activities.

In similar remarks earlier this month, Ayatollah Khamenei had stressed the country's need to turn to the economy of resistance, hoping that the Iranian nation would pave the way for its prosperity and progress by implementing the economy of resistance.

He reiterated that the economy of resistance is not a defensive tool, rather it is an economy for a nation that wants to pass through tough times and sanctions, and simultaneously pave its path for national blossoming and prosperity.
