The late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran generated great developments in Islamic unity and proximity of Islamic schools of thought, a Lebanese cleric said.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran generated great developments in Islamic unity and proximity of Islamic schools of thought, a Lebanese cleric said.

Speaking at the 6th International Conference on Islamic Proximity, Hojat-ol-Islam Sheikh Hatam Abudia added that Imam Khamenei is now determinedly threading on the same path.

The prayer leader of Lebanese citizens residing in the UK said Imam Khomeini (RA) would always urge Muslims to work for unity and solidarity.

He said the Islamic Proximity Conference is being held at a time when the Muslim world is undergoing transformations and Islamic movements are growing in different countries,

Hojat-ol-Islam Abudia warned against discord and division in Muslim ranks and said the enemies are threatening Islamic communities by attempting to create rifts and undermine unity among them.

“The ultimate aim of these attempts is to create a new domination over Islamic lands and nations and prevent Muslims’ progress.”

The Lebanese cleric underlined that if Muslims get together and hold dialogue to settle their differences all the plots hatched by the enemies will be foiled.

The 6th International Conference on Islamic Proximity was held by the Islamic Center of England on Saturday, September 29. Scholars and thinkers from different countries including Egypt, Britain, Lebanon, Algeria, France, Pakistan, Morocco, India, Yemen, Australia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain took part in the conference.
