During the past few hours, the Syrian Arab Army achieved progress in annihilating remaining armed groups in Darayya, while Palestinian factions exerted efforts to withdraw the militiamen from Palestinian refugee Yarmouk camp through mediators.
Sources informed Syrian "al-Watan" newspaper that a number of militiamen surrendered and mentioned that the Army is dealing with the rest, settling the Darayya battle in a matter of hours.
Moreover, sources indicated that, "most of the terrorists that were killed or injured in Darayya come from diverse foreign nationalities with only a limited number of Syrians, and among the surrendered were a large number of Turks, Saudis, Libyans, and Asians."
According to these sources, the Army continues its mission throughout Damascus's countryside, inflicting major losses among the armed terrorist groups.
Furthermore, the brutal clashes in Yarmouk camp between the Palestinian Popular Committees and the armed groups sustained. Palestinian sources, however, revealed to the daily that the factions seek the armed groups' retreat from Yarmouk camp through the factions' mediators. However, no breakthrough has been reported so far.
Palestinian sources foresaw that the UN envoy to Syria al-Akhdar Ibrahimi stressed on keeping the Palestinian camps away from the Syrian crisis.
In parallel, he demanded that the militiamen withdraw from the camp, however, neither the Syrian Arab Army nor the Palestinian Popular Committees would occupy it.
