Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei assured that "settlement negotiations between the Palestinian authority and the Zionist entity will lead to results similar to prior negotiations."
The Leader condemned the "Israeli" regime's crimes against the Palestinians, adding that the US-brokered talks between "Israel" and the Palestinian Authority are aimed at undermining the Palestinian resistance.
"Oppressed Palestine, after 65 years, still suffers on daily basis from the injustice and subjugation of the occupation," he stated.
In an address to a massive crowd of worshipers during Eid al-Fitr prayers on Tehran University campus on Friday, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed concern over the tense situation in the region.
He expressed "worry over the latest events taking place in West Asia and North Africa."
Touching on the unstable situation in Egypt, Imam Khamenei stated that the crisis in the North African country should be resolved by the Egyptian people. He also called on Egyptian political and religious groups to remain on the watch for plots hatched by foreign powers to plunge the country into civil war.
The Leader also condemned the terrorist attacks in Iraq and said such acts of terror are carried out to undercut the democratically-elected Iraqi government.
He has called on the peoples of the region to remain vigilant in the face of foreign attempts to incite unrest in their countries.
On the domestic Iranian level, Sayyed Khamenei said the government formation has been the latest news in Iran, which was accomplished with an effort done by the people.
"Of the great effort made during the Holy month of Ramadan was the annual al-Quds day event, which highlighted the steadfast of the Iranian people in their defense of the Palestinian cause.
