TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has highlighted the importance of cultural values, saying culture is not secondary to politics and economy, but rather it is more important than them.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with members of Iran’s Supreme Cultural Revolution Council in Tehran on Tuesday.
He said that members of the council must step up efforts to highlight the issue of culture in society and elevate it to its proper status.
He also emphasized the need to help promote cultural activities, saying that all state organizations must fulfill their obligations in this regard.
He went on to say that the plans approved by the council, such as the country’s comprehensive scientific roadmap, the document on fundamental reforms in education, and the strategic document on intellectuals, must be implemented.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader pointed to the issue of U.S. cultural invasion against other countries and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and other relevant organizations and ministries must make creative efforts to deal with the issue.
