Iran’s Majlis Speaker, Ali Larijani, has termed the expansion of parliamentary and economic ties between Tehran and Doha as the pivotal goal of his visit to Qatar.
According to IRIB World Service, in an address to reporters upon arrival in Qatar on Tuesday night, Larijani reported on his plan to meet and confer with Qatari officials, including the Emir of Qatar.
Larijani added that in the meeting with Qatari officials, avenues for expansion of Tehran-Doha parliamentary and economic relations will be discussed.
Meanwhile, the Qatari Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bin Mobarak al-Khalifi, on the sidelines of the official welcome accorded to Larijani upon his arrival in Doha, told reporters that Iran and Qatar don’t maintain any differences of opinion.
The Majlis speaker had visited Kuwait prior to arrival in Doha.
Larijani, in his two-day visit to Kuwait, conferred with the Kuwaiti Emir, premier, and parliament speaker, exchanging views on regional topics of importance and expansion of economic ties.
