Grand Ayatollah Nasir Makarem Shirazi has sent messages to Pakistan on protecting Shiite Muslims.
According to ABNA, Ayatollah Makarem said that “our message for Pakistan government is that if you cannot protect your citizens, give your place to ‘stronger’ politicians.”
Speaking in the beginning of his Fiqh (religious jurisprudence) session in congregational mosque of Qom, Iran he assessed the terrorist acts as ‘great crime’. “Not long ago, a crime was committed by Takfiri (Excommunicator) Wahhabists in Quetta, drawing great numbers into their blood. Recently, again, Karachi great crime killed and injured hundreds of people,” he said.
He also said that world Shiites should express their objections to these crimes. “What is this situation that a bunch of wild Takfiri guys can commit a new crime every day, drawing innocent people into their own blood?” asked rhetorically.
Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran should voice its protests more strongly. “The government should not ignore the events with silence, but that it should declare it loudly,” he added.
