The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has emphasized that Islamic countries should set aside their differences and work together, using all means available to them, to help the people of Gaza, to provide for all their needs.

According to IRIB World Service, speaking on Tuesday morning on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to a huge gathering of officials, ambassadors of Muslim countries, and people from all walks of life, the Leader urged the Islamic world to stand up to the brazen crimes being committed by the Zionist regime, and he urged Muslims worldwide to publicly declare their disgust and hatred of those who aid and abet the Zionist regime, particularly United States of America and Britain.

In further remarks, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei congratulated all Muslim countries on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, describing this Eid (or festivity) as the “festivity of a united ummah”. The Leader regretted the fact that contrary to Islamic teachings and principles, today the Islamic ummah has been divided “because of political motivations and because of lust for power”.

Commenting further, the Leader invited officials of all Islamic countries to actively work together to overcome divisions within the Islamic Ummah, so that a united and highly-capable ummah becomes a reality. The Leader pointedly added: “If dependency, corruption and lust for power fail to divide Islamic nations, then rest assured that no arrogant power in the world would even dare to transgress against or attack any Islamic nation or to blackmail any Islamic nation”.

Turning to events in Gaza, the Leader said brazen Zionists are massacring innocent people in Gaza and this is the direct result of divisions within the Islamic world. He added: “Censorship and news management in Western countries means many people in the West are unaware of the ‘depth of the tragedy’ in Gaza, but Zionist crimes in Gaza re so horrific (so gruesome) that even coverage of part of what is happening in Gaza by Western media has jolted the conscience of non-Muslim nations, so that large numbers of people are thronging the streets, demonstrating”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei referred to the desperate need of the people of Gaza for food, clean water, medicines, medical equipment, and reconstruction of their damaged homes, poignantly adding: “The Palestinian nation needs to defend itself, and for this, they need weapons”.

Turning to tacit or open support of arrogant world powers , and international organizations, including the United Nations, for the Israeli regime’s brutal aggression and atrocities , The Leader warned that support for the Zionist regime is like being “a collaborator or partner in crime” in the many atrocities and criminals acts committed by this bloodthirsty regime.
