The Syrian army has managed to purge foreign-backed terrorists from large swathes of land in the Provinces of Aleppo and Latakia.
According to Press TV, in South of Aleppo city, the troops retook vast regions of the province from terrorists who have been hiding in caves and hills.
Meanwhile Syrian Army made gains north of Latakia city. The operation to liberate Aleppo Province was launched after terrorists cut off the sole route to areas held by Syrian government forces days ago.
The army advance comes one day after ISIL terrorists reportedly seized the town of Mahin in the Central Province of Homs. The town is home to Syria's Assyrian Christian minority.
Meanwhile, Russian warplanes have targeted positions of ISIL terrorists in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra.
Russia's Defense Ministry said fighter jets managed to destroy a fortification, underground bunker and anti-aircraft artillery during the air raids.
