Aban 13: Victory of the Second Revolution

Today, the 13th of Aban, corresponding to November 4, is a historic day in the history of Iran and the Islamic Revolution. It is the day that shattered the idol of arrogance and made it bite the dust. Iranians and the dedicated Muslims all over the world will forever commemorate this day with jubilation for the fall of the Great Satan. It was a master stroke of revolutionary strategy that ensured the stability of the newfound Islamic Republic and has continued to be the source of strength for the Iranian people. The Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (God bless him), had hailed the heroic takeover of the US embassy in Tehran in 1979 by Muslim students as the “Second Revolution”.

The US embassy in Tehran, long detested by Iranians for its highly suspicious and undiplomatic activities turned out to be espionage den. The seized gadgets and documents revealed startling facts. The Americans, in league with certain treasonous elements in Iran were plotting to overthrow the Islamic Republic system. The shredded documents, painstakingly restored by the dedicated students, showed that the US mission in Tehran was the headquarters of a vast network of espionage spread in the region for spying upon regional states, and especially the Soviet Union. Edward Snowden was not yet born in 1979, nor was software available to the Iranians, who succeeded in decoding top secret American classified data on the activities of its agents. This was indeed a great blow to Washington and that explains for the avowed hostility of Uncle Sam towards the Iranian people, against whom none of the plots have succeeded, beginning with the 8-year war launched by Saddam of Iraq’s repressive Ba’th minority regime to the current sanctions, which the US, despite the recent agreement in Vienna on Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme, has yet to lift. This is all proof of the frustration of the Americans, who as the Late Imam used to say: cannot do a damn thing. This means, the Americans, if they are really sincere, have no other choice but to honour their part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and life their illegal sanctions, or else will have no other choice but to return to the pre Vienna situation, as senior government officials have warned in Tehran.

The Americans, as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has emphasized, cannot be trusted. They are still looking for a chance to infiltrate Iran and weaken the Iranian people. It is only because of their firm faith in God and their commitment to national interests that have made Iran impenetrable for the Americans. In other words, if the Americans were capable of doing anything against Iran, they would have long succeeded in overthrowing the popular Islamic system in Iran, as they did in Egypt. All of this means that the sanctions on Iran are nothing but desperately self-defeatist attempts of the Great Satan, which has lost all hope of checking the steady progress of the Islamic Republic in various fields, including peaceful use of nuclear energy. Today the eyes of the whole world is on Iran, as the thousands of students and people from other walks of life are rallying on the streets with vociferous chants of God’s Greatness (Allah-o Akbar) and death to the US and the illegitimate Zionist entity, Israel, which ought not to exist on the map of the region. The most significant rally in Iran is undoubtedly in front of the former US Espionage Den, where the revolutionaries have assembled to reaffirm their allegiance to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution. In view of this fact, November 4, rightly called the Day of National Campaign against Global Arrogance, is a day of triumph for the aspirations of the Late Imam Khomeini, who on this day in 1964 was exiled to Turkey on US orders – a measure that ultimately boomeranged on the Pahlavi regime. That is the reason Iran and the Iranians cannot afford to given up the slogan of “Death to the US.”

A few days ago, on the threshold of the historic 4th of November, a clear majority of Iranian legislators said the Islamic republic will not abandon the slogan of “Death to America” despite its July nuclear accord with world powers. In a statement carried by news agencies, 192 members of Iran’s 290-seat parliament said: “The martyr-nurturing nation of Iran is not at all prepared to abandon the slogan of ‘Death to America’ under the pretext of a nuclear agreement.” They said the slogan, chanted at the weekly Friday prayers in mosques and at protests, had “turned into the symbol of the Islamic republic and all struggling nations”. The legislators further said that in the aftermath of the July 14 nuclear deal with world powers, “the government and the Majlis (parliament) should act carefully in line with the wise guidance of the Honourable Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.” The Leader has endorsed the deal which curbs Iran’s nuclear drive in return for a lifting of sanctions, but has repeatedly warned against US “infiltration” of the values of Iranian society. Recently, he said: “The US is the main part of the problem in the region, not part of the solution.” He cited US support for the illegal Zionist entity, Israel. The Leader added: US regional policies differ 180 degrees with the policies of the Islamic Republic.”

Iran and the Iranians, however, have no animosity towards American citizens nor wish them death, because it not them but their administration in the White House that committed crimes against humanity. These are beasts in human form, making life miserable not just for Iranian and other world people, but also for the American people.

In view of these facts, November 4 that saw the debacle for all devilish designs against Iran, is a day of triple significance in the history of the Islamic Revolution. It is a day, which has regularly given renewed strength to the people’s movement in Iran and rebounded with vengeance on the plots hatched by successive regimes in the White House.

On this day in 1964, the detested British-installed and American-backed Pahlavi potentate, under instructions of his masters, exiled to Turkey the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, in the vain hope of perpetuating American hegemony over Iran. The rest is history. The Imam soon moved to neighbouring Iraq to take up residence in Najaf  near the holy shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (AS), from where he inspired the Iranian people to stage their epic uprisings against the US-Zionist domination of the country.

In 1978 on this fateful day, when it was clear to all that it was only a matter of time for the Pahlavi regime to be swept into oblivion, the US stooge at the behest of his overlords in Washington ordered the massacre of students at Tehran University who were staging a peaceful rally calling for the return home from exile of their beloved leader, Imam Khomeini. The bloody event backfire so badly on US designs that two months later the hated Shah was forced to flee Iran, and on February 1, the Imam returned to lead the Islamic Revolution to its resounding triumph.

However, instead of seeing the realities, the harebrained policy-makers on the Potomac resorted to every conceivable plot to try to topple the Islamic Republic. It was then that Muslim students following the path of Imam Khomeini decided to act. They realized that although the palaces in Sa’dabad and Niavaran had been taken over by the revolutionaries the actual power behind the Peacock Throne still lingered in the heart of Tehran at the US embassy that in violation of all diplomatic norms had long been functioning as the biggest ever den of spies against the interests of the Iranian nation and the neighbouring countries. Thus in 1979 came the crowning moment for November 4 when students stormed the espionage den, caught the spies red-handed in the act of shredding documents of American crimes, and ended once and for all any undesirable US presence on the sacred soil of Iran.  Imam Khomeini hailed the memorable move as the “Second Revolution” that was without the least doubt necessary for proper materialization of the rule of the Iranian people over their own affairs. But the Great Satan again failed to see the realities. By imposing the war on the Islamic Republic through its stooge Saddam and by prolonging the imprisonment of its spies in Tehran for full 444 days, the regime in the White House practically admitted that not only it has no respect for the rights of American citizens but it also has no regard for humanitarian values. Today on the 36th anniversary of the historic capture of the Espionage Den, with the Takfiri terrorists destabilizing Iraq and Syria exposed as Godless American agents, with Zionism on its last legs, and with the Islamic Republic going from strength to strength it is evident that the devilish conspiracies of Uncle Sam have floundered before the divinely-inspired spiritual power of the people of Islamic Iran
