Tens of thousands of Yemeni anti-regime demonstrators gathered in the capital Sana'a to urge the UN Security Council (UNSC) to take action against Ali Abdullah Saleh.
According to AFP on Tuesday, the demonstrators in the Change Square of Sana'a chanted anti-regime slogans, calling on “the world, the powerful nations, and the Security Council to take Saleh and his regime to court.”
Yemenis warned dictator Saleh of their determination to continue the demonstrations until their demands for his ouster are met.
Yemeni demonstrators held a similar protest rally in Sana'a on Monday, urging the UN to play a stronger role in resolving the months-long political crisis.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Qahtan of the Yemeni opposition, Joint Meeting Parties (JMP), said on Sunday that actions taken by the United Nations, especially its Security Council, would be “more effective” in ending the crisis.
