In a meeting with directors and members of the Administrative Committees of the Province of Qom and Hamadan, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani investigated the dimensions of the influence of the colonial powers in the experiences of Islamic countries and said that cultural oppression is one of the most important aims of the enemies in their colonial plans against Muslim countries.
The revered source of emulation pointed out that seeking knowledge is of great importance in Islam and added that some of the enemies of Islam have sought to manipulate it throughout the colonial era in order to keep the Islamic nations in a state of scientific and cultural oppression.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated that the interference and colonialism of the enemies had various dimensions in different Islamic societies and explained that throughout the colonial era, the enemies of Islam created an intellectual movement in order to train officials and administrators in these countries at the level of parliament speakers and presidents and made efforts to attract scholars so that they can use these countries’ own resources to teach the policies of freemasonry in order to manage and develop their knowledge to achieve their intellectual goals in their colonies.
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom stated that the second form of oppression that the enemies of Islam sought to impose in order to spread their influence and “black” colonialism in Muslim countries was the oppression of political poverty. “Specifying a president, king, speaker of the parliament and first-level managers in Islamic countries are examples that we see in the history of colonialism in the modern age,” he said.
He said that economic oppression was one another one of the evil goals of the enemies during the colonial era and added that in Islam, the economy is a fundamental pillar in society and one of the most important strategic principles of Islam. “What we read in our narrations, is that poverty is an incidental issue in society,” the scholar said.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that in a narration from Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq it is stated the secret of the survival and preservation of Islam is due to the placement of property in the hands of those who are obedient to Islam, saying: “One of the principles of Islam is that the spoils of war are the property of the Prophet Muhammad and the infallible imams, and in their absence, they belong to their deputies.”
