Iranian President Hassan Rouhani plans to pay an official two-day visit to Austria to hold talks with the country’s senior officials on ways to improve relations, particularly in the economic sector.
Heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, Rouhani will leave Tehran for Vienna on March 30 at the official invitation of Austrian President Heinz Fischer, Iranian president's deputy chief of staff for communications and information, Parviz Esmaili, said on Sunday.
He added that the two sides are expected to finalize a roadmap for strengthening economic cooperation.
The Iranian president is scheduled to hold talks with his Austrian counterpart and Chancellor Werner Faymann. He will also attend an economic meeting in the presence of Fischer and economic activists as well as representatives of the two countries’ private sectors.
Esmaili added that Iranian and Austrian officials will sign several documents for cooperation and memoranda of understanding in different fields in the presence of the two countries’ presidents.
The Austrian president paid a visit to Tehran in September 2015 at the head of a 240-member delegation with the purpose of discussing ways to improve Tehran-Vienna relations.
