US lawmaker Jake Auchinclas, referring to the military aggression against Iran, said that Donald Trump is “the first president in American history” to start a war and lose it.

On Tuesday, Auchinclas posted his interview with Fox News on the social network X and emphasized that US President Donald Trump does not have the ability and strength to accept responsibility for the defeat in the war with Iran.

He criticized the US President and said: “Donald Trump is the first president in American history to start a war and lose it. He has made America weaker, more isolated and more disrespectful. Congress must take the wheel from this incompetent driver before we find ourselves in the third quagmire in the Middle East of the 21st century.”

The Democrat added: “It must start with ending the escalation. Trump keeps trying to escalate vertically… while Iran is expanding horizontally, bringing regional actors and infrastructure assets into the conflict. Iran is winning that escalation process. We have to stop this cycle of escalation.”

Jake Auchinclas, emphasizing the long process of negotiations to defuse regional tensions, said that this will not happen during the current presidency because Trump is “so incompetent.”

He criticized the Iran-US memorandum of understanding, saying, “It was the most embarrassing national security incident since the British burned down the White House.”

Auchinclas dismissed claims that Trump made the wrong decision on the memorandum of understanding because of poor advice from those close to him, saying, “The first thing you learn in the Marine Corps is that the platoon commander is responsible for everything that happens or doesn’t happen in that platoon. “Donald Trump does not have the capacity to accept responsibility for this failure that cost the lives of eighteen Americans.”

Several U.S. lawmakers have already criticized the military aggression against Iran. These politicians have warned of the possibility of continued conflict, citing the consequences of war for the United States and the rising cost of living in the country.
