According to CNN, when Trump claimed in his speech that the Cuban government "will fall," the country's delegation—led by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez—rose from their seats and walked out of the hall in protest.

Referring to his administration's pressure on Cuba and its people, Trump stated, "My administration seeks fundamental change in the situation in Cuba, where the communist regime is under intense pressure—the greatest pressure they have ever faced; Cuba is a totally failed state... and it will fall."
