Lady Fatima Masuma (SA), the daughter of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (AS) and the sister of Imam Reza (AS), traveled toward Khorasan in 201 AH. During her journey, she became ill in the city of Qom and passed away there. She was buried in a garden called “Babulan.” Over time, buildings were constructed around her grave, and the site became one of the most important pilgrimage centers for Shia Muslims. Throughout the centuries, the shrine was expanded, and features such as the dome, courtyards, and iwans were added. Today, it is one of the most important religious and historical landmarks of Qom.
