Rezaei: No New Decision Has Been Made on Changing the Nuclear Doctrine

He said: “Of course, the question has been raised as to whether, if the war resumes, we should continue with the same nuclear doctrine as before or adopt a different approach. However, no official government decision has been made on this matter so far.”

### The Islamic Republic of Iran Is Now Awaiting the American Side’s Final Response

Referring to demands from some segments of society for a review of the country’s nuclear policy, Rezaei stated: “People are looking for a rationale behind this issue. They see that the enemy has attacked the country’s nuclear facilities, even though the Islamic Republic of Iran had accepted inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and cooperated with the inspection process.”

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council continued: “Surveillance cameras were installed at the country’s nuclear facilities, and information about the activities at these sites was transmitted online to the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”

He noted: “When people consider these facts alongside the attacks on the country’s nuclear facilities, they naturally ask why the previous course should continue and whether the country’s nuclear doctrine needs to be reconsidered.”

Rezaei reiterated that no official decision had been made on the matter so far, adding: “Apparently, our colleagues in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) have begun preliminary steps in this regard, but no official government decision has yet been taken.”

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council also commented on the progress of indirect negotiations with the United States, stating: “The Islamic Republic of Iran is currently awaiting the American side’s final response, and they may provide their answer tomorrow.”

### Iran Will Not Back Down on Issues Related to Its National Rights and Interests

Regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, he stressed: “The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is contingent upon the full fulfillment of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s conditions. Until these conditions are implemented, there will be no change in the situation.”

Rezaei also emphasized the need to safeguard the rights of the Iranian people throughout the negotiations, noting: “The Islamic Republic of Iran will not back down on issues related to its national rights and interests. The war must end in such a way that no country will dare to commit aggression against our country in the future.”

In another part of his remarks, Rezaei criticized the performance of Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressing disapproval of his positions and conduct. He claimed that Iran’s nuclear problems began during Grossi’s tenure.

Rezaei also stressed the need for coordination among the country’s various fronts under the current circumstances, stating: “Today, we are united in voice and purpose on the fronts of war, diplomacy, and breaking the economic blockade.”
